Business Development Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Specialist to represent a globally recognised power‑tool manufacturer. The position is fully remote, with regular visits to customer sites across Sri Lanka, primarily in Colombo. Candidates must be able to travel with their own transport and present products on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities throughout Sri Lanka.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Conduct regular face‑to‑face visits, present and demonstrate products, and provide on‑site sales support.
• Gather customer requirements, recommend suitable solutions, and follow up on leads, quotations and enquiries.
• Resolve customer questions and issues promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met and record all interactions accurately.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback.
• Travel within Colombo and, as needed, to other regions of Sri Lanka, with occasional trips to Singapore for training.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of sales or business development experience, preferably in hardware or power‑tools.
• Field‑sales or on‑site sales experience with regular customer visits.
• Strong communication skills and business‑level English proficiency.
• Own reliable transportation; a valid motorcycle is preferred, a car is also acceptable.
• Valid passport (company may cover passport costs where eligible).
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and willingness to travel as required.
