Barista – Full-time

About the role

Divide is looking for a full‑time Barista to join its fast‑growing coffee brand in Colombo. You will be the front‑line specialist who prepares and serves specialty coffee and matcha drinks in a high‑speed, grab‑and‑go environment while delivering a friendly, design‑focused customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee and matcha beverages according to Divide’s recipes and quality standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders and other coffee equipment safely and efficiently.
• Welcome guests, take orders, process payments and manage the POS system.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and support stock replenishment.
• Follow hygiene, safety and food‑preparation guidelines at all times.
• Represent the Divide brand through professional conduct and attention to detail.

Required profile

• Proven barista skills including coffee brewing, espresso extraction and basic beverage preparation.
• Experience in food preparation with strong focus on hygiene and consistency.
• Excellent customer‑service attitude and ability to create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with guests and team members.
• Ability to stand for long periods, handle peak‑hour rushes and work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic numeracy for cash handling and POS operation, plus a proactive problem‑solving mindset.
• Interest in specialty coffee and design‑led lifestyle brands.
