Technical Lead - Data Engineering

About the role

The Data and AI team at Superloop is seeking an experienced Data Engineer Tech Lead to design, build and maintain data pipelines and the data warehouse. You will act as a bridge between analysts and system developers, ensuring data accuracy, reliability and security while supporting analytical needs.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a conduit between analysts and system developers, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to understand data requirements and design efficient data‑warehouse solutions.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data‑ingestion workflows to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, and transformation to prepare data for analytics and reporting.
• Monitor and optimise the performance of the data warehouse, addressing issues or bottlenecks as they arise.
• Ensure data security, compliance and governance standards are met, including encryption, access controls and audit trails.
• Collaborate with Data Analysts to provide clean, well‑structured data that supports their analytical needs.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve data‑engineering processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with a strong focus on data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Experience working with large volumes of data and complex data models.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with dbt and data orchestration tools.
• Experience with Databricks or Apache Spark for data processing.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Linux and containerisation.
• Advanced SQL skills for querying, manipulation and optimisation.
• Python for scripting and automation of data processes.
