Senior UNIX/Linux System Administrator & SRE (7+ yrs)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead/Senior UNIX/Linux System Administrator & Site Reliability Engineer with over seven years of experience to drive security, performance, and reliability across enterprise Linux (RHEL, SUSE, Ubuntu) and AIX environments. The role blends deep systems engineering, VMware virtualization, storage management, and automation to ensure high availability while reducing manual operational effort.

Key responsibilities

• Install, tune, and maintain enterprise Linux and AIX server platforms; troubleshoot complex compute and virtualization incidents under pressure.
• Execute system hardening, manage user access provisioning, and enforce sudo privilege governance; coordinate compliance patching via HCL BigFix.
• Proactively monitor compute resources, analyze logs and core dumps, track background processes, and optimize performance to minimize downtime.
• Configure and maintain network storage, distributed file systems, and volume managers such as LVM, Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM), and Veritas Cluster Server (VCS).
• Scale and manage VMware infrastructure (vCenter, ESXi, DRS, HA, snapshots, vMotion, svMotion) and oversee physical hardware like Cisco UCS blades.
• Develop version‑controlled automation scripts using Ansible, Shell, and Python to replace manual runbooks and modernize operations.

Required profile

• 7+ years of enterprise Linux/UNIX administration experience, including hybrid cloud environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications preferred (RHCE, VCP, IBM AIX).
