Senior Service Engineer

About the role

The Senior Service Engineer is responsible for planning, executing and overseeing field service, maintenance and overhaul activities on 2‑stroke and 4‑stroke marine engines and auxiliary systems. The role blends advanced technical troubleshooting with team leadership and direct customer interaction to ensure safe, efficient and high‑quality service delivery worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and electronic failures on marine engines and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform overhauls, maintenance and repairs on engine automation and mechanical systems.
• Organise, lead and manage work teams before and during service assignments.
• Interact with customers on‑site, providing technical solutions and advice.
• Prepare material, spare‑part and tool lists for each job.
• Assist in the preparation of quotations, invoices and technical documentation.
• Produce internal and external service reports with conclusions and recommendations.
• Support implementation and compliance with HSE standards during all activities.
• Travel worldwide for service assignments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in servicing heavy machinery, marine engines or power‑plant equipment.
• Proven leadership, project‑management and work‑preparation experience.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and use Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience with ME‑B/ME‑C engines and a valid CDC are advantageous.
