Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to lead our quality engineering strategy across API, backend, UI automation and emerging AI‑driven features. The role combines deep automation expertise with technical leadership, ensuring release quality and mentoring a growing QE team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate QE activities across multiple engineering teams, aligning priorities, coverage and release readiness.
• Assign day‑to‑day tasks, provide hands‑on guidance, unblock escalations and ensure sprint goals are met.
• Track cross‑team dependencies and integration risks, surfacing blockers early and driving resolution.
• Own release readiness decisions, consolidating regression status, environment coverage and dependency sign‑offs.
• Represent QE in planning ceremonies, leadership discussions and cross‑functional forums.
• Mentor engineers on automation best practices, framework usage and quality standards.
• Design, build and maintain API automation frameworks in Java, including contract testing (e.g., Pact).
• Develop comprehensive test suites for microservices, event‑driven systems and perform backend/database validation (SQL/NoSQL).
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines as quality gates.
• Build and maintain UI automation suites using Playwright for critical user journeys.
• Test AI‑assisted and AI‑driven features where applicable.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior or lead quality engineering roles.
• Strong automation expertise across API, backend and UI layers.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and drive release quality.
• Experience mentoring engineers and promoting best practices.
• Familiarity with AI‑driven feature testing is a plus.
