Senior Associate - Operations (Accounting)

About the role

WNS Global Services, a global Business Process Management provider with a presence in Sri Lanka since 2004, is hiring a Senior Associate for its Operations team in Colombo. The role covers general ledger, reconciliation, reporting and support for management accounts and audits.

Key responsibilities

• Perform journals and reconciliations
• Report monthly actual balances, including the income statement and statement of financial performance
• Produce monthly KPI reports
• Maintain the general ledger, fixed asset register and monthly depreciation, and the lease register
• Handle monthly standard prepayments and accruals, inter-company reconciliations, revaluations and related journal entries
• Recharge costs to local entities and perform balance sheet and forex revaluation reconciliations
• Prepare monthly tax working schedules for return filings
• Ensure internal deliverables are ready before GL close, and support management accounts and reporting
• Support internal and external audits, controls and investigations, and provide ad hoc general accounting support

Required profile

• University bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce or a part qualification in a recognised professional accounting course (CIMA, CA, ACCA)
• High degree of accuracy with data entry
• Experience working in accounting software and ERP systems
• Strong verbal and written communication, organisation, attention to detail and deadline awareness
• Excellent multitasking, time management and prioritisation
