Project Operations Associate

About the role

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Sri Lanka is seeking a Project Operations Associate to support its Climate and Environment Team. The role will contribute to the delivery of climate‑related programmes, ensuring effective coordination, reporting and implementation across multiple funding streams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the full programme life‑cycle, from planning and budgeting to monitoring and evaluation.
• Coordinate with government agencies, donors, and partners to ensure timely delivery of project components.
• Prepare and consolidate regular progress reports, financial statements and compliance documentation.
• Support the development of funding pipelines and partnership proposals.
• Maintain project databases and documentation in line with UNDP standards.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field such as environmental studies, development studies, public administration or a related discipline.
• Experience in project or programme operations, preferably within an international development or climate‑focused context.
• Familiarity with UN development processes, donor reporting requirements and multi‑stakeholder coordination.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities, with attention to detail.
