Pharmacy Incharge, Duty & Assistant Pharmacist (Colombo)

About the role

We are seeking qualified pharmacy professionals to join Medihelp Hospitals in Colombo. The position covers In‑charge Pharmacist, Duty Pharmacist and Assistant Pharmacist duties, ensuring safe and efficient medication services for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including accurate dispensing and prescription verification.
• Maintain proper storage, temperature control, and inventory management of medicines.
• Provide medication counseling and support to patients and healthcare staff.
• Coordinate staff schedules and monitor workflow efficiency (In‑charge role).
• Document prescriptions, manage records and participate in audits.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety and hospital policies.

Required profile

• Relevant pharmacy qualification (B.Pharm, Diploma in Pharmacy or equivalent) and eligibility for registration.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions and dispensing practices.
• Experience in pharmacy operations, stock control and temperature monitoring.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy information systems or hospital IT systems.
• Basic computer literacy.
