Pastry Chef – Luxury Hotel

About the role

Join the culinary team at Shangri‑La Hotel Colombo as a Pastry Chef. You will work closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to create high‑quality pastries, bakery items, and desserts that meet the hotel’s luxury standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the pastry and bakery section, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
• Assist in planning seasonal pastry and bakery menus.
• Maintain par stocks, rotate products, and ensure proper inventory control.
• Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the pastry area.
• Supervise and guide junior colleagues, ensuring compliance with hotel policies.
• Deliver excellent guest satisfaction through attentive service.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a 5‑star international hotel.
• Strong knowledge of a wide range of pastries, bakery items, desserts, and cake decorating techniques.
• Professional demeanor with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated, creative, and able to lead by example.
