Mechanical Senior Engineer

About the role

Michelin is seeking a Mechanical Senior Engineer to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of plant machinery. You will lead maintenance initiatives, support operational activities, and drive continuous improvement across the production floor.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee machine availability and performance for all plant equipment.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis on breakdowns, develop corrective actions and implement preventive measures.
• Reduce maintenance costs through cost‑effective solutions and process improvements.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, safety procedures, and CMMS records.
• Execute commissioning, calibration, and adjustment tasks for machinery.
• Maintain critical spare‑part inventories and keep SAP data current.
• Support OPEX/CAPEX projects and drive initiatives such as RCM, CMMS, and FMEA.
• Update KPI dashboards accurately and on schedule.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and daily management procedures.
• Develop technicians’ skills through coaching, training materials, and one‑point lessons.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• 4‑5 years of experience in mechanical/mechatronics or hydraulic engineering.
• Strong communication skills in English and Sinhala.
• Demonstrated teamwork, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.
