Human Resources Manager – Travel & Tourism

About the role

The company is a leading inbound and outbound travel, tour operations and destination management firm in Sri Lanka. They are seeking a strategic, proactive Human Resources Manager to lead the end‑to‑end HR function and support rapid growth in the hospitality and tourism sector.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full recruitment lifecycle for travel consultants, tour executives, operations staff and leadership positions, ensuring smooth onboarding.
• Align HR initiatives with business growth plans and partner with department heads to meet talent needs.
• Implement performance appraisal systems, KPI tracking and professional development plans to boost productivity and retention.
• Drive employee engagement and culture through wellness programs, inclusion initiatives and conflict‑resolution mechanisms.
• Identify training needs across customer service, destination knowledge, sales and software tools, and organise skill‑enhancement programmes.
• Oversee payroll processing, attendance tracking, leave management, HRIS maintenance and compliance with Sri Lankan labour laws.
• Develop, update and enforce HR policies, employee handbooks and operational guidelines in line with industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field; professional certifications (e.g., CIPM, SHRM) are advantageous.
• 5‑8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2‑3 years in a managerial or lead role, preferably in travel, tourism or hospitality.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Sri Lankan labour legislation, statutory requirements and industrial relations.
• Hands‑on experience with HRIS, automated attendance tracking and payroll processing systems.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
