Founding AI Engineer

About the role

LedgerPro is building an AI‑native accounting platform and is looking for a founding AI Engineer to own the creation of intelligent agents and the evaluation framework that powers them. You will turn underspecified workflow challenges into shipped, measurable AI agents that become the core product.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement autonomous agents that perform irreversible financial actions safely.
• Develop a rigorous evaluation suite and treat failures as bugs to continuously improve model performance.
• Distill large frontier models into fast, cost‑effective fine‑tuned versions without losing capability.
• Diagnose failed agent runs quickly, identifying prompt, tool, data, or model issues.
• Own the full model lifecycle: data curation, fine‑tuning, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and re‑training.
• Rapidly ship features and instrument usage to inform the next iteration.

Required profile

• AI engineer with a founder mindset who thrives on ambiguous problems and delivers production‑ready solutions.
• Track record of shipping ML/LLM systems, whether early‑career or senior.
• Desire to own the AI layer end‑to‑end, not just call external APIs.
