Food & Beverage Service Trainee

About the role

We are seeking a motivated, customer‑focused individual to join the Food & Beverage team of a prestigious 5‑star hotel in Colombo. As a Service Trainee you will gain hands‑on experience delivering high‑quality service across breakfast, lunch, dinner and special events while supporting the overall guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in providing professional, friendly food and beverage service to guests.
• Set up and clear tables according to hotel standards.
• Take food and beverage orders and ensure accurate, prompt delivery.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant and service areas.
• Support the F&B team during all meal periods and special events.
• Follow hotel procedures, food safety guidelines and guest request protocols.
• Assist senior team members with daily operations as needed.

Required profile

• G.C.E. O/L or equivalent qualification.
• A certificate or qualification in Hospitality/Food & Beverage is an advantage.
• No prior experience required; training will be provided.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude, well‑groomed and customer‑oriented.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
