English Teacher

About the role

The English Teacher will join a Cambridge English Exam Preparation Centre in Galle, delivering engaging, level‑appropriate lessons that prepare learners for Cambridge examinations. This full‑time, on‑site position involves daily classroom instruction and close collaboration with the academic team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lesson plans aligned with Cambridge exam requirements.
• Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
• Assess student progress through tests, assignments and regular feedback.
• Maintain a supportive classroom environment and manage classroom dynamics.
• Communicate student performance to learners and guardians.
• Participate in curriculum planning, staff meetings and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in English, Education, TESOL, Linguistics or related field.
• Relevant teaching certifications (e.g., CELTA, TESOL) are an advantage.
• Experience teaching learners of various ages and proficiency levels.
• Prior experience preparing students for Cambridge English or similar international exams is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills for classroom instruction and stakeholder interaction.
• Commitment to inclusive, learner‑centered teaching.
