English Teacher – Cambridge Exam Preparation

About the role

The English Teacher will deliver engaging, level‑appropriate English lessons aligned with Cambridge exam requirements to learners of various ages and proficiency levels. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Galle and focuses on preparing students for strong exam results.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare lesson materials that meet Cambridge exam standards.
• Conduct classroom instruction, assign and evaluate student work, and provide constructive feedback.
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent curriculum delivery and organize exam‑preparation workshops.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics or a related field.
• Relevant teaching certifications (e.g., TESOL, CELTA) are an advantage.
• Prior experience teaching Cambridge English or other standardized English exams.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to use modern educational technology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with students, parents, and staff.
