Draughtsman – Buildings

About the role

The Draughtsman will work full‑time on‑site in Colombo, translating conceptual designs into detailed architectural, structural and engineering drawings. You will support the delivery of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects by producing accurate CAD documentation that meets company and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Convert sketches and design concepts into precise technical drawings using AutoCAD and related drafting tools.
• Update and revise drawings in response to design changes, client feedback or site conditions.
• Maintain organized drawing files and ensure all documentation complies with project specifications and legal requirements.
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and site teams to gather information and resolve drawing‑related queries.
• Provide clear, error‑free plans and details to support construction and installation activities.

Required profile

• NVQ/Diploma or National Certificate in Engineering Draftsmanship (or equivalent).
• 3–5 years of experience drafting for building and road construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction documentation standards and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.
