Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

Union Assurance is seeking a motivated Cyber Security Engineer to protect its enterprise information assets. You will work across networks, software systems and data centres, conducting vulnerability scans, monitoring threats and ensuring security patches are applied.

Key responsibilities

• Execute an enterprise‑wide information security and IT risk management program based on ISO 27001 and CIS controls.
• Maintain IT network, servers, user identities and devices to uphold optimal security levels.
• Implement and manage security infrastructure, including firewalls and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of applications and perimeter using tools such as OWASP ZAP and support DevSecOps processes.
• Analyze real‑time security threats, apply secure configurations, and manage incident response.
• Ensure new technologies comply with security regulations and report updates to the board audit committee.
• Participate in architectural discussions to address risk, security and compliance concerns.
• Provide training material and awareness sessions on cybersecurity threats and counter‑measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in a similar security role.
• Professional certifications from ISACA, (ISC)² or GIAC are preferred.
• Strong understanding of security controls, frameworks and incident response management.
• Excellent planning, organization and attention to detail.
