Communication Coordinator – We Rise Together

About the role

The Communication Coordinator will lead the visibility and advocacy efforts for the "We Rise Together" project across multiple provinces in Sri Lanka. Working closely with the Donor Communications Lead and project team, you will ensure consistent, strategic messaging that supports social inclusion and democratic participation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the communications and visibility plan for the project with guidance from the Donor Communications Lead.
• Create timely materials such as factsheets, impact stories, and multi‑purpose content for stakeholders.
• Produce at least one impact story per month and regular social‑media posts, including photos and videos.
• Upload all content through the Content Flow system and Story Hub, meeting professional standards.
• Coordinate media and digital outreach to raise the project’s profile.
• Support the MEAL coordinator in preparing evidence‑based reports and documentation.
• Manage reputation risk and emergency communications as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Development Studies or a related field.
• Minimum three years of progressive experience in communications or media within the development sector.
• Fluency in English and at least one local language (Tamil or Sinhalese).
• Ability to work under stressful conditions with limited resources.

Required skills

• Creative and content writing.
• Production of factsheets, impact stories, and social‑media content.
• Photo and video documentation.
