Cloud Operations Engineer – GCP (3-4 years experience)

About the role

The Cloud Operations Engineer – GCP is responsible for monitoring, supporting and maintaining enterprise‑scale applications hosted on Google Cloud Platform. This junior‑to‑mid level position combines hands‑on Linux administration, container triage on GKE, batch scheduling and database query execution to ensure high availability and strict SLA compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor Compute Engine, Cloud Storage and networking; use kubectl to inspect GKE pods, restart services and review logs.
• Perform Linux system operations including storage management, secure file transfers (SFTP) and command‑line text parsing across Linux/Unix servers.
• Track infrastructure metrics via Datadog and GCP Cloud Logging; support scheduled deployments through Jenkins, uDeploy and Ansible CI/CD pipelines.
• Execute SQL/PL‑SQL queries to validate backend data and recover automated batch jobs using Control‑M or Autosys.
• Document and resolve production incidents and change requests in ServiceNow, adhering to corporate SLA guidelines.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of experience in Cloud Operations or Systems Administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• GCP Associate Cloud Engineer or ITIL certification preferred.
