Bar Back

About the role

Otherland Hotels is seeking a dedicated Bar Back to join its on‑site team in Galle. This full‑time position supports the bar team by keeping the service area stocked, clean, and ready for guests, while contributing to a high‑quality hospitality experience.

Key responsibilities

• Restock beverages and supplies throughout the shift.
• Prepare garnishes and ensure all bar tools are clean.
• Maintain an organized, well‑presented bar area.
• Assist with basic food and beverage service as needed.
• Clear tables and bar counters promptly.
• Respond to guest requests in coordination with bar and floor staff.
• Receive and store inventory deliveries.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
• Follow hygiene, safety, and brand standards at all times.
• Collaborate closely with the wider F&B team to ensure efficient service.

Required profile

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food & beverage operations and bar setup.
• Ability to learn quickly and support training efforts.
• Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or hotel environment preferred.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift supplies.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and proactive approach to cleanliness.
• Working proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
