Associate Risk Management Analyst - Independence

About the role

EY's Risk Management Services (RMS) is an internal function of Global Delivery Services that protects the firm from risks arising from its professional practice, including independence, conflicts, compliance, regulatory, policy and security issues. This Associate Analyst role sits in the Independence sub-service, supporting client-serving teams in maintaining EY's independence for existing and prospective audit and non-audit clients. The work follows EY Global Independence policies and supports decisions on new client acceptances and continuations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop working knowledge of firm-level independence concepts and carry out procedures set out in the EY Global Independence policies.
• Review submissions of documents and requests from client-serving teams for completeness and accuracy, and reconcile and analyse information with EY independence and finance tools to update them.
• Interpret client company structures and entity attributes and relationships under the EY Global Independence policy.
• Perform secondary research using internal and external databases and draft recommendations for project managers' review.
• Follow up with audit and pursuit teams to complete procedures and keep stakeholders informed.
• Take part in knowledge calibration sessions and keep abreast of AI and emerging technologies relevant to independence.

Required profile

• Graduate, Master's or post-graduate degree (Finance preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience in secondary research and analysis in a professional services firm; client-facing experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of company structures, ownership structures, auditor independence and basic risk management concepts.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
