Assistant Manager - Stores

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Stores will oversee daily store operations, ensuring smooth receipt, storage, and issuance of materials while maintaining accurate inventory records. The role collaborates with procurement, operations and other departments to guarantee timely material availability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily stores operations including receiving, storing, issuing and dispatching materials.
• Monitor inventory levels, ensure stock accuracy and conduct regular physical stock counts and reconciliations.
• Maintain proper documentation and timely updates of inventory/system records.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Operations and other relevant departments to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
• Supervise and guide the Stores team, maintaining productivity, discipline, safety and housekeeping standards.
• Identify stock discrepancies, excess or slow‑moving items and operational issues, implementing corrective actions.
• Prepare inventory and operational reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Stores/Materials Management or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in stores, warehouse or inventory management, preferably within a structured or large‑scale organization.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse/stores operations and ERP/inventory management systems.
• Good leadership, analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
