Assistant Manager – Stores

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Stores will oversee daily store operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage and issuance of materials, maintaining accurate inventory records and optimal stock levels. The role also involves leading the stores team and coordinating with procurement, operations and other departments to guarantee timely material availability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily stores operations including receiving, storing, issuing and dispatching materials.
• Monitor inventory levels, ensure stock accuracy and conduct regular physical stock verifications and reconciliations.
• Maintain proper documentation and timely updates of inventory/system records.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Operations and other relevant departments to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
• Supervise and guide the Stores team while maintaining productivity, discipline, safety and housekeeping standards.
• Identify stock discrepancies, excess or slow‑moving items and take corrective actions.
• Prepare inventory and operational reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Stores/Materials Management or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in stores, warehouse or inventory management, preferably in a large‑scale organization.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse/stores operations and ERP/inventory management systems.
• Good leadership, analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
