Assistant Manager / Manager – Legal

About the role

Softlogic Life is seeking a proactive Assistant Manager/Manager – Legal to join its Corporate Legal team. The role involves providing sound legal advice, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing legal documentation across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and manage a wide range of commercial and corporate agreements.
• Support statutory and regulatory compliance in line with Sri Lankan legal requirements.
• Monitor legal developments and keep the business updated on relevant changes.
• Maintain organized legal records, filings, and documentation.
• Track ongoing litigation and prepare internal status updates.
• Liaise with external parties such as company secretaries, registrars, and authorities.
• Support PDPA initiatives, including privacy notices, consent clauses, data‑sharing agreements, and cross‑border data assessments.
• Provide practical legal insights to business units on operational matters.

Required profile

• A recognized local or foreign LLB degree with 5–7 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in corporate or commercial law.
• Admitted Attorney‑at‑Law in Sri Lanka with a valid practicing status.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and research skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with legal research databases.
• Familiarity with document automation tools.
• Use of collaboration platforms.
