Assistant IT Procurement Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant IT Procurement Manager to support a leading telecommunications company in Sri Lanka. The role focuses on managing end‑to‑end procurement for IT hardware, software, cloud services, enterprise applications, licenses, and maintenance contracts while driving cost optimisation and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement processes for IT hardware, software, cloud services, enterprise applications, licenses, AMCs and support services.
• Coordinate with IT, Network, Digital, Finance, Legal and other stakeholders to fulfil project‑based and operational procurement needs.
• Conduct supplier sourcing, RFP/RFQ issuance, technical and commercial evaluations, vendor negotiations and contract finalisation.
• Oversee IT maintenance and AMC contracts, ensuring timely renewals, SLA compliance and vendor performance.
• Ensure procurement activities align with company policies, governance frameworks, audit requirements and information‑security standards.
• Drive cost‑optimisation initiatives through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation and commercial negotiations.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation, contract records and approval workflows.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external technology vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Management or a related discipline.
• 4–6 years of experience in IT procurement, technology procurement, strategic sourcing or vendor management.
• Hands‑on experience procuring IT hardware, software, cloud services, enterprise systems and maintenance contracts.
• Proven track record in RFP/RFQ management, commercial negotiations, contract management and vendor performance monitoring.
• Familiarity with software licensing, IT infrastructure, cloud services and enterprise technology procurement.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, stakeholder‑management and communication abilities.
• Experience in telecommunications, IT services, system integration, banking or large corporate environments is a distinct advantage.
