Assistant Housekeeper

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeper will join the housekeeping team at Finder Recruitment's on‑site hotel facilities in Colombo. This full‑time position focuses on maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming guest rooms and public areas while supporting overall service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and tidy guest rooms, corridors, and common areas according to established standards.
• Manage laundry operations, change linens, and ensure proper handling of supplies.
• Replenish room amenities and report any maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist in training new or junior housekeeping staff on procedures and quality expectations.
• Coordinate with supervisors to meet efficiency and cleanliness targets.
• Interact courteously with guests, addressing requests and ensuring a positive experience.

Required profile

• Ability to perform housekeeping and laundry tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills for professional guest interaction.
• Good organizational abilities to manage cleaning schedules and supply inventories.
• Capacity to support training of new staff on housekeeping procedures.
• Prior experience in hospitality or housekeeping environments is highly beneficial.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift and perform tasks throughout the workday.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to hygiene and safety protocols.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
