Business Development Specialist

About the role

We are hiring a Business Development Specialist for a globally recognised power‑tool manufacturer. The position is fully remote, with regular visits to customer sites across Colombo and other parts of Sri Lanka to develop new opportunities and maintain relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities throughout Sri Lanka.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Conduct regular face‑to‑face customer visits and provide on‑site sales support.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
• Present and demonstrate products during customer visits.
• Follow up on leads, quotations and potential sales opportunities.
• Resolve customer questions and issues promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer needs are addressed.
• Monitor market developments, competitor activity and customer feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, sales activities and opportunities.

Required profile

• 2+ years of sales or business development experience, preferably in hardware or power‑tools.
• Experience in field/on‑site sales and regular customer visits.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with business‑level English.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Own reliable transportation (motorcycle or car) for carrying products to customer sites.
• Willingness to travel within Colombo, other Sri Lanka locations and occasionally to Singapore.
