QA Lead – Test Strategy & Automation

About the role

The QA Lead will drive test strategy, automation and quality assurance across our product portfolio, leading a hybrid team of manual and automation engineers. This role ensures high‑quality releases while collaborating closely with development and product stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and guide a hybrid team of Manual and Automation QA Engineers, allocate tasks, track progress and ensure timely, high‑quality deliverables.
• Create comprehensive test plans and test cases, estimate effort, prioritize and coordinate testing activities across sprints.
• Develop, execute and maintain automated test scripts within the existing framework and review the team’s automation code for best practices and maintainability.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and project leadership to communicate quality metrics, coordinate delivery requirements and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Oversee the defect lifecycle and release tasks, including bug documentation, tracking, validation and regression testing to ensure production‑ready releases.
• Contribute to mobile automation suites and monitor automated tests in CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide recommendations to enhance the test automation framework for greater efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities with experience managing mixed manual and automation QA teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proven ability to design test strategies and drive quality across agile sprints.

Required skills

• JIRA, Confluence, TestRail (or similar) for test management and defect tracking.
• API automation experience (e.g., Rest Assured).
• Mobile testing/automation tools (e.g., WDIO Mobile, Espresso, Eggplant).
• Basic familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
