Lead DevOps Engineer

About the role

The Lead DevOps Engineer will design, build and operate scalable Azure cloud platforms, driving automation, security and reliability across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage Azure cloud platforms using Terraform, Crossplane, AKS, Azure Container Apps, GitOps, Backstage and shared DevOps pipelines.
• Develop reusable code libraries and templates in C# and Python to enable self‑service automation for development teams.
• Embed security into CI/CD pipelines with SAST/DAST, enforce Azure governance policies, manage secrets and automate end‑to‑end security scanning.
• Implement SRE practices such as SLOs/SLIs, monitoring, alerting, dashboards, post‑mortems and automation to ensure observable and reliable operations.
• Drive cloud cost optimisation through resource tagging, budget alerts, anomaly detection and automated rightsizing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, resolve incidents, maintain documentation and provide high‑quality operational support.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of enterprise‑level Azure experience, including AKS, Azure Container Apps, VNets, ACR, Key Vault and Azure Policy.
• Strong background in Kubernetes (deployments, StatefulSets, RBAC, network policies), Helm, Docker and container security.
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform, Crossplane and declarative infrastructure management.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps YAML pipelines, ArgoCD, GitOps workflows and trunk‑based development.
