Intermediate Accountant – Australian Accounting (Hybrid)

About the role

Voigue is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to support its Australian accounting operations. The position is based in Dematagoda, Colombo and works on Australian business hours, offering a hybrid/remote arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day‑to‑day bookkeeping, data entry and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers and working papers.
• Assist with accounts payable & receivable and month‑end reporting.
• Prepare Income Tax Returns for companies, trusts and individuals.
• Support BAS preparation, GST reconciliations and compliance lodgments.
• Assist with payroll processing and related record‑keeping.
• Prepare financial reports, cash‑flow summaries and reconciliation schedules.
• Communicate professionally with Australian‑based teams and clients as required.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Xero (essential).
• Experience preparing Income Tax Returns (essential).
• Good understanding of Australian accounting practices, GST and BAS (essential).
• Ability to assist with payroll processing.
• Working knowledge of MYOB (advantage).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and reconciliations.
• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills.
• Proactive, adaptable and eager to learn and grow.
• Comfortable working Australian business hours.
