Head of Sales & Account Management

About the role

The Head of Sales & Account Management for Sri Lanka will lead the Business‑to‑Organisation portfolio of the British Council, driving sales strategy, managing a team of Account Managers and securing high‑value contracts across English language training, assessments and examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the sales strategy for the Sri Lankan market.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Account Managers to achieve annual B2O targets and KPIs.
• Manage key accounts and high‑value opportunities, overseeing the sales pipeline and forecasting.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and build strong relationships with education institutions, government bodies and corporate partners.
• Ensure compliance with global sales processes, CRM standards and data‑governance requirements.
• Provide data‑driven insights to senior leadership to improve sales effectiveness.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• At least four years of sales experience, including B2B sales.
• Proven experience managing a sales team.
• Strong track record of achieving revenue targets.
• Familiarity with Salesforce or a similar CRM system.
• English language proficiency at C1 level (speaking and writing).
