Warehouse Manager

About the role

The Warehouse Manager will lead the planning, operation and maintenance of Save the Children’s warehouse facilities in Sri Lanka. Reporting to the Senior Warehouse Manager, you will ensure safe storage, accurate commodity handling and efficient distribution of food aid to beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee warehouse construction, rehabilitation, and upgrades, ensuring compliance with SCI policies and commodity management best‑practice.
• Manage receipt, inspection, storage, and dispatch of food commodities, including quality checks, documentation, and pallet stacking.
• Maintain accurate stock records in the TIM warehouse management system and produce regular reception and distribution reports.
• Implement safety and security measures, conduct regular inspections, and coordinate pest‑control and fire‑safety protocols.
• Supervise Warehouse Officer and any casual staff, conduct performance reviews and provide on‑the‑job training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3–7 years of experience managing large warehouses, preferably with international NGOs and food‑aid programmes.
• Valid motorbike riding licence.
• Fluency in English, Sinhala and Tamil.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
• Experience using commodity or stock‑tracking software (e.g., TIM).
• Knowledge of warehouse safety guidelines and commodity management regulations.
