Senior ServiceNow Developer (ITSM)

About the role

Join NEXT Technology’s ServiceNow team to design, develop and roll out new functionality across the core ServiceNow platform supporting NEXT, a leading UK fashion retailer. You will work closely with the ServiceNow Team Leader and Technical Specialist, delivering high‑impact projects that enhance ITSM, customer service and risk management capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Scope, implement and test ServiceNow projects, including communication and documentation.
• Develop and deploy platform changes, coordinating with third‑party vendors when required.
• Perform regression testing, apply fixes for upgrades/patches and drive adoption of best practices using the Automated Test Framework (ATF).
• Design and implement automation through integrations and other ServiceNow products.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing on the ServiceNow platform, with hands‑on implementation in areas such as ITSM, Customer Service Management or Integrated Risk Management.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to junior team members and conduct technical reviews.
• Strong communication skills and capability to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• ServiceNow platform development (ITSM, CSM, IRM, Predictive Intelligence, Performance Analytics, Virtual Agent, NLU).
• JavaScript, ServiceNow Glide classes, AJAX, XML.
• Service Portal development – HTML, CSS, AngularJS, Bootstrap.
• Integration via REST and SOAP web services.
• Knowledge of platform best practices, table structures, ACLs and client/server‑side scripting.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies (advantageous).
