Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager Finance

About the role

We are seeking a results‑driven Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager Finance to lead full‑cycle financial accounting, statutory and internal audits, and taxation for a portfolio of commercial buildings and condominium properties. The role combines technical accounting expertise with strategic business partnering to support operational management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliations and fixed assets.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with SLFRS and other applicable standards.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and budgetary controls across managed properties and produce variance analysis.
• Coordinate annual statutory audits, prepare audit schedules, respond to queries and implement corrective actions.
• Lead internal audit engagements and strengthen internal controls, SOPs and financial policies.
• Handle all tax matters with the Department of Inland Revenue, including corporate income tax, VAT/SVAT, WHT filings and tax assessments.
• Provide financial advisory to facility management teams on service charge budgets, sinking funds, vendor contracts and cost optimisation.
• Support pricing, costing decisions and business case development for new contracts or property acquisitions.
• Supervise junior accounting staff, ensure proper documentation and continuously improve processes.

Required profile

• Fully qualified CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Proven experience in financial accounting, audit coordination and tax compliance, preferably within facility management or real‑estate sector.
• Strong knowledge of SLFRS, local tax legislation and audit standards.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and drive process improvements.
