Purchasing Specialist

About the role

Vyrian is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join our team in Sri Lanka in a hybrid capacity. This role finalizes purchase orders with suppliers identified by our Sourcing team, coordinates shipping and logistics of components to our headquarters, and works with Finance to ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Order Finalization – receive confirmed purchase orders, verify specifications, quantities, pricing and delivery terms, and close the order with the supplier.
• Finance & Payment Coordination – match supplier invoices to purchase orders and shipping documents, process payments with Finance, and resolve any discrepancies.
• Records & Reporting – maintain up‑to‑date records of purchase orders, shipment status and payment status, and provide regular updates to Sourcing, Sales and Finance teams.
• Collaboration – work closely with the Sourcing Specialist team, Finance and logistics partners to ensure smooth order‑to‑delivery flow and proactively communicate status.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement operations, order management or logistics coordination for electronics or high‑end technology products.
• Working knowledge of purchase order processes, invoice reconciliation and basic freight logistics concepts.
• Strong English communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and comfortable learning ERP/procurement systems.
• Based in Colombo and available for a hybrid work arrangement.
