Key responsibilities

• Architect, design, and oversee development of software solutions for highly complex technical projects.
• Create detailed software specifications and lead technology roadmap planning.
• Champion innovation, fostering a creative environment that attracts top talent.
• Lead all phases of the software development lifecycle, emphasizing quality and continuous improvement.
• Monitor competitor products and patents, ensuring Zebra’s designs exceed industry standards.
• Develop next‑generation technologies in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
• Protect intellectual property by analyzing competitor patents and contributing to related initiatives.
• Act as a thought leader and spokesperson on specialized projects.
• Establish formal networks across teams to achieve shared objectives.
• Provide strategic mentorship to senior engineers and management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience (or 7+ years with an advanced degree).
• Proven ability to lead architecture and design for large‑scale software systems.
• Strong consultative and strategic thinking skills.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
