About the role
Friends Lanka Child Foundation is looking for a motivated individual to teach English to small groups of students (grades 6‑9) on a part‑time, voluntary basis. Classes run two days a week, Monday to Friday, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Pearl Preschool and Education Centre in Ratmalana.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons that develop written and spoken English skills.
- Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials tailored to small class sizes (6‑10 students).
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
Required profile
- Enthusiasm, creativity and a passion for helping students succeed.
- Undergraduate pursuing a degree in English‑medium studies, English Language, Western Classical Culture, or ELTU.
- Holder of an English Language diploma from a recognized institute and/or TESL certification.
- At least one year of teaching experience.
