Packaging Artwork Designer

About the role

Medkin Pharmaceuticals is seeking a detail‑oriented and creative Packaging Artwork Designer to produce accurate, compliant packaging artwork for pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical products. The role blends graphic design expertise with strong multilingual skills and an understanding of regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare professional packaging artworks, labels, cartons, stickers and other packaging materials according to approved specifications.
• Create and modify print‑ready packaging artwork suitable for commercial printing, incorporating QA‑approved product information, cautions, warnings, directions and storage conditions.
• Coordinate with QA, Production, Marketing, Regulatory and other departments to ensure artwork accuracy and timely completion.
• Review packaging content for spelling, grammar, formatting and typographical errors before final approval.
• Prepare and verify packaging information in English, Sinhala and Tamil, ensuring accurate translation across all three languages.
• Liaise with printing companies and external suppliers regarding artwork specifications, proofing, corrections and final print requirements.
• Monitor regulatory updates, Gazette notifications and legal changes that affect product labeling and packaging, and communicate them to relevant teams.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, Visual Communication, Languages, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmaceutical/Cosmetic Science or a related field.
• Strong command of English, Sinhala and Tamil with ability to translate and proofread technical product information.
• Excellent attention to detail, especially when handling product names, ingredients, quantities, directions, warnings and regulatory declarations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Proficiency in CorelDRAW or equivalent design software.
