Nursing and Wellness Officer

About the role

The Nursing and Wellness Officer provides immediate medical care, manages the school sick room, and promotes health and well‑being among students and staff. This position ensures a safe, healthy environment and supports the overall wellness strategy of the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first aid and basic nursing care for injuries, illnesses, and emergencies.
• Conduct health assessments, monitor vital signs, and arrange referrals when needed.
• Oversee daily operations of the sick room, maintain supplies, and ensure infection‑control standards.
• Record student visits, treatments, and recovery progress while maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain up‑to‑date medical records for students and staff, tracking chronic conditions and allergies.
• Plan and deliver health awareness programs, screenings, vaccinations, and wellness initiatives.
• Provide guidance on physical and emotional well‑being, offering basic counseling and referrals.
• Ensure compliance with school health policies, safety regulations, and coordinate with parents, healthcare providers, and emergency services.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in nursing or a related healthcare field.
• Valid first aid and CPR certification (registered nurse qualification is a plus).
• Minimum two years of experience in healthcare, school nursing, child care, or a related area.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff.
• Compassionate, patient, and service‑oriented attitude.
