MEAL Officer – 1 (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

This one‑year, fixed‑term MEAL Officer position is designed to build a pipeline of skilled monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning staff. Based in Colombo, the role supports multiple ADP/project teams and may be deployed to field locations as needs arise, providing hands‑on experience across the full M&E cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in structured orientation, mentoring and coaching on World Vision’s M&E systems, standards, tools and guidelines.
• Support core M&E processes including logframes, MEAL plans, indicator tracking, baselines, monitoring, evaluations, accountability and learning.
• Assist project teams with routine monitoring, data collection, beneficiary verification, field observations and follow‑up actions.
• Conduct field visits to ensure data quality, perform spot checks, validate information and gather evidence.
• Design and use digital data collection tools such as Kobo and ODK.
• Clean, organize, tabulate and analyse quantitative and qualitative data under supervision.
• Support baselines, end‑lines, assessments and learning reviews through tool preparation, data collection coordination and analysis.
• Coordinate with field teams, project staff and national office technical teams to meet M&E deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, Management, Economics, Urban Planning, Information Management, Data Science, IT or related field.
