Legal Counsel, Mobility

About the role

Deel is seeking a Legal Counsel specialized in Mobility to support its global workforce. The role focuses on employee relocation, immigration, and mobility programs across the APAC region, ensuring compliance with local labor, tax and immigration regulations while enabling seamless international assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on global mobility policies, work permits, visas and employment compliance for assignments in Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, China and other APAC markets.
• Draft, review and negotiate mobility‑related agreements, policies and contracts in collaboration with HR, Mobility and business teams.
• Monitor and interpret changes in immigration, labor and tax legislation to mitigate risk and ensure the company’s mobility strategy remains compliant.
• Support internal stakeholders on immigration case management, documentation and procedural requirements.
• Assist in developing and updating internal mobility guidelines and training materials.

Required profile

• Law degree with a focus on immigration, labor or tax law.
• Proven experience advising on employee relocation and immigration matters, preferably within a multinational or SaaS environment.
• Strong understanding of APAC immigration and employment regulations.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work cross‑functionally.
