About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer Azure to join our team in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The role focuses on building scalable, secure, automated, and highly reliable cloud platforms and requires 5+ years of relevant experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and manage scalable Azure platforms using Terraform, Crossplane, AKS, Azure Container Apps and GitOps.
  • Develop reusable automation, libraries and templates with C# and Python.
  • Implement DevSecOps practices such as SAST/DAST, vulnerability scanning, Azure Policy, Key Vault and container security.
  • Establish and improve SRE practices, including SLOs/SLIs, monitoring, alerting, dashboards, incident management and automation.
  • Drive cloud cost optimisation through tagging, budgets, anomaly detection and automated rightsizing.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve incidents and deliver reliable platform operations.

Required skills

  • Enterprise Azure (2+ years) – AKS, Azure Container Apps, VNets, ACR, Key Vault, Entra ID, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, Azure Monitor.
  • Kubernetes expertise – Helm, RBAC, network policies, deployments, StatefulSets.
  • Infrastructure as code – Terraform, Crossplane.
  • GitOps tools – ArgoCD, Azure DevOps YAML pipelines.
  • CLI & scripting – Azure CLI, PowerShell, Bash, kubectl, Docker.
  • Security tools – Snyk, SonarQube, workload identity, container image security.
  • Database knowledge – Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, secure private connectivity.
  • Programming – C#, Python (optional .NET, Backstage exposure).
