Lead Data Scientist – Advanced Analytics

About the role

The Lead Data Scientist will be a core member of the advanced analytics project delivery teams within the OCTAVE Center of Excellence. This role involves conducting complex statistical analyses on large datasets, building and iterating advanced machine‑learning models, and collaborating closely with data engineers, translators and senior data scientists.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct advanced statistical analysis to generate actionable insights, identify trends and measure performance.
• Build and refine supervised and unsupervised learning models of varying complexity.
• Apply data‑engineering concepts such as pilot testing and execution to support model deployment.
• Collaborate with senior data scientists to design and deliver analytics solutions.
• Communicate results effectively to technical audiences within the integrated analytics team.
• Document solutions, research best practices and continuously iterate on problem‑solving approaches.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics or a related field.
• At least 6 years of relevant analytics experience, including hands‑on machine‑learning projects.
• Proven ability to work in agile environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong drive to learn, good organisational skills and the ability to communicate complex technical content.
• Experience collaborating with data engineers and translators in cross‑functional teams.
• High energy, experimental mindset and willingness to explore new solutions beyond standard methodologies.
