Lead Backend Developer – Python

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Backend Developer to design, develop, and deliver scalable Python‑based backend systems for global clients. The role involves leading a team, collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders, and ensuring high‑quality solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead backend design and development using Python, focusing on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Build and maintain APIs and services with FastAPI and other frameworks such as Django, Node.js, Wagtail, or Firebase.
• Mentor and guide a team of developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA, DevOps, and clients to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Optimize backend performance, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
• Produce technical documentation and share project knowledge across the organization.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years of hands‑on Python development.
• Proven track record of leading backend teams and delivering complex projects.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and client‑facing skills.
• Ownership mindset with the ability to adapt in fast‑paced environments.
