Indirect Purchasing Advisor

About the role

The Indirect Purchasing Advisor will manage the complete procurement lifecycle for high‑value technical purchases, including CAPEX, engineering projects, plant expansion and construction works. The role requires strong commercial and financial acumen, stakeholder‑management capability and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams while ensuring compliance with budgets, timelines and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end indirect procurement activities covering CAPEX, engineering projects, plant expansion, construction works, infrastructure, utilities, automation and other high‑value technical purchases.
• Develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies aligned with project requirements, timelines, approved budgets and organizational objectives.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Maintenance, Finance, Legal, Operations and other stakeholders to define requirements and ensure timely procurement execution.
• Manage RFQs, RFPs, tenders, bid evaluations, supplier negotiations and contract award processes.
• Evaluate and manage suppliers, contractors, consultants and service providers, ensuring compliance with quality, delivery, contractual and governance requirements.
• Support contract negotiation and administration, including variations, amendments, claims, performance guarantees, warranties and liquidated damages.
• Monitor procurement schedules, committed spend, budget utilization, contract performance and project‑related commercial risks.
• Conduct cost analysis and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) evaluations to support commercial and investment decisions.
• Drive procurement savings, cost avoidance, supplier performance improvement and risk‑mitigation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or related discipline (professional qualifications such as CIPS, ISMM, CPSM are a plus).
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in indirect procurement, CAPEX procurement, project procurement or engineering and construction procurement.
• Proven experience in contract negotiation and administration, budget control, cost management, supplier and contractor management, tendering and bid evaluation.
• Experience managing procurement for plant expansion, engineering services, construction works, utilities, automation, infrastructure or high‑value technical purchases.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical ability and stakeholder‑management skills.
