Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of heavy trucks, ensuring they remain safe and operational.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs of heavy vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and perform corrective actions.
• Execute preventive maintenance according to service schedules.
• Inspect vehicles to identify potential failures and recommend corrective measures.
• Maintain workshop standards, safety procedures, and accurate service records.
• Ensure repaired vehicles are returned to service within required timeframes.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
• Experience with TATA or Renault heavy vehicles is an advantage.
• Responsible, disciplined, safety‑conscious and able to work independently.
• Willingness to work flexible hours when required and collaborate as part of a team.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of diesel engines.
• Understanding of transmissions, braking systems, suspension and electrical systems.
• Ability to perform fault diagnosis and preventive maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
