Head of Operations – Branch Operations

About the role

The leading FMCG group is looking for an experienced Head of Operations to drive operational excellence across its network of branches and outlets in Colombo. You will be responsible for shaping strategy, improving efficiency and ensuring a consistent customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the operations of multiple branches/outlets.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, service standards and business performance.
• Monitor branch performance against KPIs, revenue targets and operational objectives.
• Ensure consistent operational standards, policies and procedures across all outlets.
• Lead, motivate and develop branch managers and large operational teams.
• Monitor outlet profitability, costs, productivity and resource utilization.
• Identify operational gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Sales, Finance, HR, Supply Chain and other functions to ensure smooth operations.
• Analyze operational reports and performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Drive process improvements, cost optimisation and operational efficiency.
• Manage operational challenges and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety requirements and relevant standards.

Required profile

• 7–10+ years of experience in branch, retail or operations management.
• Proven experience managing multiple outlets/branches.
• Strong expertise in operational excellence, KPI management and team leadership.
• Experience leading large teams and driving service standards.
• Commercial awareness and strong problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
