Head of Engineering

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced engineering leader to head engineering and maintenance across multiple sites, with the Waradala Factory as the hub. The role ensures reliability, safety and performance of electrical systems, plant, utilities and critical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering and maintenance operations across all company locations.
• Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programmes for plant, equipment and utilities.
• Manage electrical distribution, panels, motors, drives, generators, transformers and control systems.
• Oversee HVAC, refrigeration, cold rooms, AC systems and other critical utilities.
• Coordinate breakdown response, troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
• Develop and manage the engineering and maintenance team.
• Supervise engineering projects including installation, testing and commissioning.
• Control contractors, vendors, critical spares and engineering costs.
• Promote energy efficiency, reliability improvements and compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Degree or recognized professional qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of industrial engineering/maintenance experience.
• 3–5 years leading an engineering or maintenance team.
• Strong background in electrical maintenance, generators, transformers, motors, drives and control systems.
• Hands‑on knowledge of HVAC/AC, refrigeration, cold rooms and utilities.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance and root‑cause analysis.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
