Garment Technologist – Executive Level

About the role

Emjay-Penguin is seeking an experienced Garment Technologist at an executive level to join its Kandy factory. The role focuses on overseeing garment construction, ensuring that samples and bulk production meet technical specifications and brand standards while supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee garment construction processes and verify that samples and bulk output comply with technical specifications.
• Coordinate fittings, assess garment performance, and resolve technical issues in collaboration with design, production and quality teams.
• Monitor fabric and trim usage, support quality control inspections, and provide technical guidance to production lines.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, communicate with internal stakeholders, and drive improvements in garment quality and efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong technical expertise in garment construction, fitting, pattern interpretation and size specifications.
• Knowledge of textiles, fabric behavior and suitability for various garment types.
• Experience in quality control, including garment inspection, measurement checks and defect analysis.
• Diploma or degree in Clothing Technology, Fashion Technology, Textiles or related field, with prior executive‑level experience in apparel manufacturing.
• Attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and capacity to work in a fast‑paced factory environment.
